The Chicago Cubs could trade Kris Bryant to the Washington Nationals

Finally, we get to maybe the most interesting trade of them all. Former Cub Kyle Schwarber has been on an absolute tear this year for Washington, earning an All Star bid for 2021. What better player to trade for, if you’re Washington, than his former teammate Kris Bryant?

Schwarber has been lights out. Bryant has enjoyed a bounce-back season in which he’s mostly played at an MVP level. Getting those two back together would be a blast, if you’re the Nationals.

To start things off, the Nationals would send their no. 4 overall prospect in shortstop/third baseman Yasel Antuna, who is still attempting to prove he belongs in the Majors. But, the Nationals believe he could be a consistent switch hitter in the future.

The Cubs would also get the Nationals’ no. 8 overall prospect, left hander Tim Cate. Two of Cate’s best attributes are his control as well as his pretty impressive curve ball.

In addition to those two, the Cubs would get a couple of prospects further down the Nationals’ list in no. 11 prospect, first baseman Drew Mendoza, and no. 25 prospect, right-hander Jake Irvin.
