The Chicago Cubs could trade Kris Bryant to the Toronto Blue Jays

Back to Bryant, and a team that will also be buyers this year. The Toronto Blue Jays are looking up at both the Rays and Red Sox in a tough AL East this year. But, with a big move at the deadline, the Jays could make waves over the second half of the season.

One potential big move for the Jays would be to acquire Kris Bryant. Like a couple of other teams that could buy a third baseman, the Jays fit the bill. Once more, though, any package for Bryant would be a tough one to put together. The Cubs will be looking for a massive return, meanwhile the Jays would be banking on the fact that they could extend Bryant for many years to come.

In this scenario, the Cubs come away with another haul of prospects. To begin with, they would get the Jays’ no. 3 overall prospect in shortstop Jordan Groshans. Our friends at Jays Journal believe Groshans to be a guy that Toronto could end up dealing in a package for a high profile player.

In addition to Groshans, the Cubs would get infielder MIguel Hiraldo, currently the Jays’ no. 8 prospect. They would also net a pair of right-handers in the Jays’ no. 14 prospect Eric Pardinho and no. 21 prospect Yosver Zulueta.
