Chicago Cubs: 3 players snubbed from the MLB All-Star Game
The Chicago Cubs would love to send Javier Baez and his magic to the All-Star Game.
The Chicago Cubs and the rest of Major League Baseball know all about Javier Baez and his magical ways. He is one of the most exciting players in all of baseball in terms of pure entertainment. He is also an extremely productive player night in and night out. He struggled a little bit in 2020 but has rebounded nicely in 2021. He can play shortstop at an extremely high level while being a premier offensive player.
Baez is usually a candidate to be in the All-Star Game and 2021 has been no different. He was a shortstop finalist for the starting lineup that was conducted by a fan vote but didn’t win that. After the fact, he wasn’t selected as a reserve which is a bit surprising. Unfortunately, that makes him one of the year’s biggest All-Star snubs.
Baez and the Cubs are going to take this type of snub as motivation. Like Rizzo, he is in the final year of a contract. The Cubs don’t seem to know anything about their future plans and Baez is a big part of that discussion. His snub from the All-Star Game won’t mean much because everyone knows how good he is but it will definitely be interesting to see regardless.
