The Chicago Blackhawks could try and land draft picks in a Duncan Keith trade.

The Chicago Blackhawks may be able to snag a draft pick out of Duncan Keith if they make a trade like this. In this deal, the Hawks would be giving up Duncan Keith to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for them selecting Adam Gaudette in the expansion draft and a fourth-round pick. This is something for both teams to consider for a few different reasons.

In this deal, the Hawks would be landing an extra draft pick. They would also be controlling who they lose in the expansion draft if they want to protect more players than they are allowed to automatically. This would also be a good move for the Kraken as they would be getting two players who can play on their NHL roster right away.

They would have to get Adam Gaudette a contract extension as he is currently an RFA but that shouldn’t be too hard for anyone. He is a good player who can provide you with some depth. As for Keith, it is hard to see there being more NHL experience available via trade this offseason. Getting Keith on their opening night roster would be a great thing for them. Landing a pick in the expansion draft may be hard so a deal like this would be worth it for Chicago.
