The Chicago Cubs could trade Kris Bryant to the Chicago White Sox

Out of any potential trade the Cubs could make, this one would be the most polarizing. Not only would finally trading Kris Bryant be an enormous move, but dealing him to their crosstown rival would make a lot of waves within the city.

The White Sox have been on a bit of a skid lately, like the Cubs. But, the Sox still remain in first place in their respective division. As the current AL Central leaders, the Sox are in a much different place than the Cubs are. The Sox have endured major injuries to several players this year, and things will only get remarkably better as they get some of those guys back. But, adding Bryant would mean they are gearing up for a World Series run.

This is a monster of a deal, but only because trading a superstar within the same city requires a big haul in return. If the Cubs dealt Bryant, they would be asking for a lot, just as they reportedly had been in the past when Bryant’s name was among trade rumors.

In this deal, the Cubs would net the White Sox’ top two prospects in righty Jared Kelley and outfielder Yoelqui Cespedes. To top it off, the Sox would also send their current number 11 overall prospect, third baseman Jake Burger, back to the Cubs as well.

If this deal isn’t enough for the Cubs to sell Bryant, the Sox could potentially throw in one more prospect like either outfielder Micker Adolfo or even first baseman Gavin Sheets.
