The Chicago Blackhawks may want an old friend back in a trade for Duncan Keith.

The Chicago Blackhawks may very well trade Duncan Keith to the Vancouver Canucks. They fit the criteria laid out by Elliotte Friedman in his tweet as they play in Western Canada. The Blackhawks have also made trades with the Vancouver Canucks recently so you know the two organizations are friendly with each other right now.

If the Hawks wanted to trade Keith to the Canucks, getting back Matthew Highmore and a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft would be a good deal for both sides. The Canucks were a massive disappointment in 2021 but in 2021-22 they could have a good year if they make a few good decisions. They aren’t going to give up much more for Keith but no team is going to at this point in his career.

Vancouver has a few nice pieces in place like Elias Petterson, Bo Horvat, Brock Boeser, and Quinn Hughes to name a few. If Keith was able to go there and bring in some of his experience to the table, those youngsters might be able to learn a thing or two about winning. Quinn Hughes might be able to benefit from having a partner like Duncan Keith if things worked out that way for them. It is certainly something to consider for both teams.
