Chicago Bulls: 3 wild trade packages for Damian Lillard
By Ryan Taylor
The Chicago Bulls would have to give up a lot in order to acquire Lillard.
This trade helps the Bulls in a lot of ways outside of obtaining Lillard on the end of it. Signing and trading Markkanen is a huge help because it helps them get value back for him instead of sending Markkanen into free agency.
Satoransky has a partial guarantee of $5 million this offseason, creating an awkward situation if he were to be traded away. White is a tough pill to swallow giving away. He has plenty of potentials to be a well-rounded player and is already a prolific scorer in the NBA.
More draft capital probably needs to be given away than just a first-rounder. This is a tough area for the Bulls, considering they traded away their 2021 and 2023 first-round draft picks for Vucevic. The Blazers can use these pieces to rebuild if they were to trade away Lillard. They would most certainly clear house by giving away C.J McCollum and company too.
This trade may not seem like a lot to get for the Blazers but if Lillard requests a trade, the buyer has the upper hand in this situation. I’m not sure of many teams willing to take on Lillard’s contract and give away assets for him.
