Chicago Blackhawks: 3 New York Islanders to consider this summer
The Chicago Blackhawks fans would love it if Casey Cizikas were on their team.
Chicago Blackhawks fans love players who play the game a certain way. Casey Cizikas would become a fan favorite in short order with the way that he plays. No, he was not traded to the New York Islanders from the New Jersey Devils this year. For the past few seasons, he has been one-third of the best fourth line in the entire National Hockey League with Cal Clutterbuck and Matt Martin.
If he came to Chicagos’ fourth line, he would fit right in. You really don’t use a guy like Cizikas on any other line but you know what you are going to get from him in that role. The Hawks don’t have the best forward depth, in fact, they have horrible forward depth. Adding someone like this would really help them put a more complete team on the ice.
What is it that makes Casey Cizikas such a good fourth liner? Well, he can do it all in that role. For one, he can make big hits and be annoying to play against. He has absolutely no problem dropping the gloves every now and again and he can crunch the stars on the other team if they don’t keep their head up. He can also score goals in the most clutch moments as well so he is certainly someone you’d rather have on your bench than the opponent’s bench.
The Blackhawks are in a weird spot right now when it comes to the hockey side of things. Some people think that they are a few pieces away from being a playoff team and some see them as a team with a rebuild much needed. If the former is the direction they go, these Islanders’ players might be considered.
