Chicago Bulls Draft: 3 Prospects to consider in the second-round
By Ryan Taylor
Joel Ayayi might be someone for the Chicago Bulls to consider as well.
Just in case the Bulls decide to use the draft to solve their point guard problems, I give you Joel Ayayi. Ayayi is not a true point guard but a true guard at heart. He stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 180 pounds. He played for Gonzaga for three years with his junior year being the most accomplished of them all with the help of future first-round picks Jalen Suggs and Drew Timme.
Ayayi averaged 12 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He shot a whopping 57.5 percent from the field on 8.4 shots per game and just under 40 percent from behind the arc.
Ayayi is an excellent spot-up shooter and a very creative passer. While he may not be a pure point guard he can certainly play the part as one.
The best part of Ayayi’s game is his pace of the game. He can play slow and crafty with the ball but at the same time can run the floor in transition and make plays that way. This attributes to his excellent shooting percentage from the field.
The Bulls could use a steady point guard to hold down the starting lineup. While Karnisovas and Eversley will most likely use free agency to solve the issue, they could use Ayayi or another point guard out of the draft to do so as well.
