The Chicago Bulls could attempt a trade for Damian Lillard

Arguably the biggest name that will be amongst discussions this summer is Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard — and he would be the biggest potential splash for the Bulls, too.

Lillard has remained committed to the Blazers over the years, even poking at fellow NBA stars for their disloyalty. But, after the Blazers were eliminated from the playoffs again this year, Lillard went on social media to post a cryptic quote that led to some folks wondering if he’ll eventually want out of Portland.

"“How long should I stay dedicated? How long til opportunity meet preparation” – @nipseyhussle"

Sure, the quote is a song lyric. But, that’s often times how athletes will express themselves in today’s world. If Lillard truly is getting to the point where he’s tired of getting bounced early in the playoffs, maybe he finally decides he would like a trade.

Lillard can’t do it on his own. There are many people who believe CJ McCollum should be the one dealt for possibly a better wing or post player. But, the Blazers could also opt for getting the most in return for Lillard.

If the Bulls went after Lillard, LaVine would be another likely candidate to be traded. Although, the Bulls won’t want to deal him. This would be another situation where Chicago would have to throw a couple of young players and a whole lot of picks to Portland in order to have a shot.
