Chicago Blackhawks: 3 new Jack Eichel trade packages
According to a report from Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the Chicago Blackhawks are now a part of the Jack Eichel sweepstakes. That is a move that would change the franchise for a very long time as Eichel is one of the truly great players in the National Hockey League right now. When he is healthy, he has the ability to be a game-breaking type of centerman. The sky is the limit for the kid but his divorce with the Buffalo Sabres seems to be underway.
The Chicago Blackhawks would be so smart to add a kid like Jack Eichel right now.
Jack Eichel didn’t have much fun during the 56 game season. He wasn’t the Jack Eichel that we are used to seeing but his Buffalo Sabres team was one of the worst teams in the history of the sport. He had two goals and 16 assists for 18 points in 22 games played. Obviously, he was just short of being a point per game player but his goal-scoring was way down.
With a little more luck in his shooting, you would think that his numbers go back to the elite totals we are used to seeing from him. The only knock on Eichel is that his shot is so lethal but he doesn’t use it enough. He is a magnificent passer as well so you want him to figure out a way to know what the best option is when he is in the attacking zone.
If he came to a team like the Blackhawks, he would have opportunities to play with other great goal scorers and some other great setup men. The Hawks aren’t this world-beating team but they look like a juggernaut compared to the Sabres right now. It would certainly take a lot to acquire him and a deal might look something like this:
