Chicago Bulls: 3 players from Philadelphia 76ers to pursue
By Ryan Heckman
Mike Scott could be a free agency option for the Chicago Bulls
Veteran forward Mike Scott is entering free agency after getting paid a relatively minimal $5 million salary last year from the Sixers. The 32-year-old has hardly been used by the Sixers in their last two postseasons, and he’s likely a bit disappointed that he couldn’t contribute more.
During the regular season, Scott is accustomed to playing between 15-20 minutes per game. But, for some reason the last couple of years, Philadelphia hasn’t used him a lot during the playoffs.
Now potentially looking for his fifth NBA team, Scott could be a cheaper, smarter option for the Bulls. If Chicago spent bigger money elsewhere, adding Scott to the front court would be a great move. He would fill a similar spot to the Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis roles of past seasons while Thaddeus Young switches between a few different positions off the bench.
If the Bulls want to put together a roster of guys who can not only get to the postseason but make some noise, Scott would be a sensible addition. He’s now been part of eight different playoff teams over his career that started back in 2013. He has playoff experience and would be a great mentor to the younger guys on this roster.
