Mike Reilly would be a really solid addition for the 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks.

The Chicago Blackhawks would love to bring in as many young defensemen as possible. Mike Reilly is 27 so he isn’t brand new anymore but he is still a few years away from the 30 mark. He is a Chicago-born kid that would probably love to play for the Chicago Blackhawks at some point in his career. With the weak defense that the Hawks have, they might be willing to take a look at this guy.

Reilly has had a very interesting career. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2011. He finished his collegiate career at Minnesota and decided not to sign with the Blue Jackets. Instead, he signed with the Minnesota Wild after spending most of his life in that state. He then spent time with the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens before making his way to the Bruins.

When he got to Boston, he found another level that he never really found in his earlier NHL stops. He showed that when in a good position, he can be a very good NHL defenseman. The Blackhawks play a very high octane system under Jeremy Colliton which might make this a good option for a player like him.
