There is a chance that the Chicago Blackhawks would have to give up four NHL players.

The Columbus Blue Jackets could very well want four NHL-ready players right away in a deal for Seth Jones. They might get that from a team, despite the fact that Jones is public with his desire to be out of Columbus. They, besides Kirby Dach, would probably be lesser ceiling players but still good nonetheless.

Alex Nylander and Nikita Zadorov both have the fact that they are restricted free agents in common. If traded, the Blue Jackets would have to get them both signed before the 2021-22 season but it should be easier because they are restricted. Both of them are good players but would probably be better somewhere besides Chicago based on the system. John Tortorella is gone so we don’t know what kind of system will be implemented.

As for Dylan Strome, we don’t know what his future is in terms of production but it could go either way. If Dach underwhelms in his NHL career, Strome would then be the best player listed here. He has a chance to be a really nice player which would make this a great trade for the Blue Jackets.

The Hawks are truly in these rumors and that is very interesting based on how the past five seasons have gone for them. Hopefully, whatever they decide, proves to be a decision that helps them not be a mess of a hockey team anymore.
