Chicago Bears: 5 dark horse candidates to make the final roster

Dark horse candidates to make Chicago Bears roster: OT Gunnar Vogel
The Bears have gone and completely overhauled their offensive tackle position this offseason. In releasing Charles Leno and Bobby Massie, general manager Ryan Pace sent a clear message: this was a spot worth upgrading and investing in.
Rookie second rounder Teven Jenkins will be one starter, and then on the opposite side it could be between Elijah Wilkinson, Germain Ifedi and even rookie fifth-round pick Larry Borom. The competition will be fun to watch. When looking at other tackles who could try and fight for a spot, though, it’s going to be difficult. Those four tackles might be the only tackles the Bears keep on the team come September.
One kid to watch, however, is another undrafted guy out of Northwestern: Gunnar Vogel. It’s a long shot he makes the roster, but the one thing he has going for him above everything else is his potential versatility. Vogel moves well and might even be able to line up at guard if he was asked to, and the Bears love those versatile offensive linemen. They have a few already.
Vogel has the mentality of a finisher, which is always great to have. He’s not the quickest off the line, but again he moves well overall. Vogel is one to watch who will be fighting hard in camp this summer.
