Dark horse candidates to make Chicago Bears roster: EDGE Charles Snowden

Going into training camp, one of the positions the Bears actually have some decent depth is at the outside linebacker position. Of course, Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn are your starters. But, there are a couple others who are near locks to make this roster.

Behind Quinn and Mack are second-year pro Trevis Gipson and newly-signed veteran Jeremiah Attaochu. Both of these guys should have no problem making the roster. So, do the Bears keep five outside linebackers? If they do, one guy who could sneak onto the roster is undrafted free agent Charles Snowden out of Virginia.

Seen as a mid-round prospect, Snowden fell undrafted this year and the Bears were fortunate enough to be able and sign him. Now, he faces an uphill battle to make the team. But, Snowden is a very talented player and, if any undrafted free agent has a shot, it’s him.

Snowden is quick and athletic, boasting a huge frame that he is still growing into. He could afford to add a little weight, even. But, he’s a disruptor. He can get to the quarterback fast and also makes it tough on them in terms of getting the ball off accurately. His long frame allows him to really make it hard to get the ball off without having to adjust.
