Last season, Coby White struggled at the point guard position. Offensively, he dominated in scoring the basketball. Doncic could help take pressure off of his position and allow him to create a game for himself off-ball.

It’s no question that White struggled to find his niche on the team last season.

He is not a true facilitator nor the best on defense. However, White can score the ball with ease. He averaged 15.1 points per game last season and thrived off the bench too.

However, White struggles to handle the ball and run the offense. White averaged 4.8 assists per game and 2.3 turnovers per game. His assist-to-turnover ratio was nearly below 2 — not good.

Doncic is an excellent ball-handler and usually runs the offense for the Mavericks. This could allow White to be free of needing to handle the ball and focus on working off-ball to find his shots/lanes.

Only 29.2 percent of White’s two-point shots are assisted by another player, and Doncic would be the guy to help fill the gap in White’s game.

Nevertheless, this would give White a clearer vision of leading the second rotation for the Bulls, as he most likely would not start with Doncic on the team. This would be a more certain position for him instead of being replaced by Tomas Satoransky.
