Chicago Bears: 5 breakout candidates who could be cut too early

Chicago Bears breakout candidates who could be cut: TE Jesper Horsted
One position the Bears should start thinking about, in future terms, is at tight end. Right now, they are pretty well set with Cole Kmet and Jimmy Graham going into this season. Kmet should be in for much more work and may end up being a breakout candidate of his own.

The Bears are banking on Kmet becoming a stud, because after this year, Graham is likely gone and it’ll be Kmet and a bunch of no-names.
One of those no-names is actually a guy I have grown to love over the last few years. Jesper Horsted doesn’t get a lot of playing time, but when he does, he seems to make something happen.
Horsted is one of the more athletically underrated guys on this roster and has had some big moments in preseason games. He makes some difficult catches look routine and gives the Bears a very underutilized pass-catching option.
However, with the Bears also re-signing J.P. Holtz and maybe going with three tight ends this year, Horsted could be in jeopardy of not making the final roster. If that’s the case, he may end up elsewhere by the time the season comes around. Horsted could be someone who helps the Bears in a big way after Graham leaves Chicago, but he won’t get that chance if he’s cut this year.
