Chicago Bulls: 5 blockbuster trades to consider this offseason
By Ryan Heckman
The Chicago Bulls could pull off a blockbuster trade involving Kemba Walker
Similar to the Wall situation, Kemba Walker could be a sneaky addition for the Bulls — depending upon what the deal entails.
A recent report came out suggesting that the Celtics and Walker could be heading for a breakup. If that’s the case, then a potential trade suitor would have to take on another two years and $73 million in Walker’s contract.
If the Bulls were to take on the Walker contract, they could end up asking the Celtics for a first-round pick. Boston has a strong core right now already, and adding a few pieces could be the difference in them competing for a championship.
In this trade, the Celtics would add a capable guard in Satoransky, plus get much-needed front court help in Markkanen (again, via a sign-and-trade). Also adding White, the Celtics get a spark plug off the bench.
Boston would net a future second rounder, but also part with a first-round pick in order for the Bulls to be willing to take on Walker’s contract. The Celtics also throw in guard Romeo Langford, here.
While Walker hasn’t been himself recently, he could take this offseason to get himself healthy and back into prime shape. If he were to be added to the Bulls, then this Chicago team could certainly make some noise. They have long-needed an upgrade at point guard, and Walker just might fit, depending upon how his health looks going forward.
