Justified

Kris Bryant has been everything and more for the Chicago Cubs this season.

The Chicago Cubs have been a mystery for a few years now in terms of their plan. Then Theo Epstein left and put Jed Hoyer in charge and that made things even weirder. Kris Bryant, as a result of all this, has been in trade rumors. He is on an expiring contract which makes things very difficult. It is even worse when he is on an MVP pace.

Not only has Bryant been an MVP caliber player this season with his bat, but he has also been elite at five different positions. He can play first base, third base, and all three outfield positions for the Cubs whenever they need him. It is honestly remarkable to watch.

Bryant wasn’t as productive as we thought he would be after his MVP winning 2016 season and that is why some people saw him as the star most likely to be traded. The truth is, however, that when healthy he is one of the best players in the league. The Cubs knew that and he has justified their faith in him. Now, if they can get him signed long-term they will be in good shape. If they trade him, they will be getting back a very good return. Either way, having faith in his resurgence is being rewarded.
