The New York Knicks had plenty of success this season and will hope to retain the team they built from the ground up.

Last season, the Knicks recorded a 21-45 record and were one of eight teams not invited to the bubble in Florida to compete for the playoffs.

The Knicks turned the ship around quickly. They made the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs this season, the first time since the 2012-2013 season. That was the last time the Knicks also had a winning record.

The team also had two NBA awards given to their team. First, Tom Thibodeau won the Coach of the Year award in his first season with the Knicks, bringing them to the playoffs and recording a winning record with the team. Second, Julius Randle won the Most Improved Player after leading his team to the playoffs and drastically improving his in-game statistics.

The point is that Rose has not been on a stable winning team since he was with the Chicago Bulls. Before the back half of this season with the Knicks, Rose was with the Pistons, Timberwolves, and Cavaliers for short stints. He can finally make a mission with the Knicks under his old coach and former teammate Taj Gibson.
