Willson Contreras is certainly going to be tough for the Chicago Cubs to trade.

About 25 teams in Major League Baseball would line up to add Willson Contreras to their team. He is one of the very best catchers in the world. The Cubs have been lucky to have a guy like that for a long time now. He is a multiple-time all-star and a World Series Champion. If the Cubs made him available, the Cubs wouldn’t have any issue getting a good offer. The problem is that they would have a tough time trading him because he is so good.

Contreras currently has an incredible bat and he plays a really good catcher. He is also a bit of a sparkplug in the dugout as well. When he is on your team, you better believe that he is going to do everything in his power to win. He is a guy who can hit for power as well which is house money coming from your catcher.

Most of the start players on the Cubs right now are on expiring contracts. Contreras is the only member of the “big four” that has one year left. He is arbitration-eligible after this season and then is a free agent after next season. The Cubs have a little bit longer to decide with him but he is certainly a name to watch out for as MLBTR suggests.
