The Chicago Blackhawks could move a forward and young defenseman in a trade.

The Chicago Blackhawks need to change things up. They are the only team from the old Central Division that participated in the 2021 NHL Draft Lottery. Those divisions are going to go back to normal in 2021-22 and the Hawks are behind them all. The Arizona Coyotes participated in it as well and they are coming over to the Central as the Seattle Kraken join the league but nobody should think the Hawks are better than them either.

Nicolas Beaudin is sort of in the same boat as Ian Mitchell. He is a young kid that the Blackhawks have faith in. He could become a very good player but the Hawks would consider moving him if the right trade came about. If he joined the Leafs, he would probably get playing time in short order as they need players with high ceilings just like him.

Dylan Strome is a good player but he needs help. He is the type of centerman that would love to have a winger that gets him the puck out of dirty areas and then goes to the net. The Hawks do a horrible job providing him with that lately so maybe the Leafs can figure it out. Adding two players like this for Nylander might be near the top of any return they can get if they decided to move him.

There is no guarantee that the Leafs do anything. They might decide this was a weird year and the John Tavares injury was too much to overcome. That is probably the wise decision but you just never know with that team. You’d like to see the Hawks take action, however, if they are taking calls.
