The Chicago Blackhawks might be a team in the market for a big trade this offseason. They believe they have a chance to do something in 2021-22 for some reason so they might be willing to chase one of these big trade market guys. One of those players that may be available is William Nylander of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has been up and down in his career but there is no doubt that he is a very good player on a reasonable contract.

If you remember the name, it would make sense because his brother Alexander Nylander is on the Chicago Blackhawks but he was injured in 2020-21. William is significantly better than Alex so that shouldn’t make anyone not want him. Who knows, maybe an acquisition of William would make Alex reach his potential because he is an extremely skilled individual himself.

The Chicago Blackhawks may get a major boost if they added William Nylander.

Nylander has mixed reviews in Toronto but that fanbase is very hard to deal with. Nylander is an outstanding player that would make any team better. In 2020-21, he had 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 points in 51 games played. All of that came in the shadows of Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and John Tavares as well.

The Maple Leafs, once again, failed to meet expectations once the playoffs rolled around. They were the dominant force in the North Division all year long and then blew it in the playoffs. They had a 3-1 series lead over the Montreal Canadiens and only one win away from advancing to the second round for the first time since 2004. They let it slip away and lost the series in seven games.

As a result of this, there is a good chance that some overreactions are on the horizon. One of those overreactions might be the trade of a great player. There are some good names to choose from and Nylander is near the top. These are three Blackhawks-Maple Leafs trade packages that might get Willian in Chicago:
