There are two types of Chicago Bulls fans in this world: only two.

There are those Bulls fans who love LeBron James and those who do not. Typically, there is no in between.

For those on the latter side, last night was a celebratory event. LeBron and his Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated in the first round by Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns.

It was the first time LeBron has been eliminated in the first round in his entire career. Now, the Lakers have some soul-searching to do as they enter an early offseason this summer. The team has a few impending free agents that would certainly look good in other uniforms.

The Chicago Bulls are headed on the upswing and would benefit from adding a free agent or two from L.A.

Even though the Bulls did not make the playoffs this past season, the future looks brighter for a team now under the leadership of Arturas Karnisovas, Marc Eversley and head coach Billy Donovan.

This summer, Chicago is bound to make some noise in free agency. Zach LaVine has blossomed into a true star and, for the first time since joining the Bulls, has a fellow All Star teammate in Nikola Vucevic.

The odds the Bulls go out and sign someone of note this offseason are much higher than years past. Could they snag someone from this past season’s Lakers squad? Los Angeles has to make some changes, right? There’s no way they can run back the same exact team next year and expect different results.

If the Bulls wanted to, they could pursue one of these key Lakers in free agency, should Los Angeles let any of them walk.
