The Chicago Blackhawks would have to give up a lot to land Mitch Marner.

The Chicago Blackhawks would certainly love to add someone like Mitch Marner. He had a lot of success in the regular season. Marner’s 67 points were fourth in the National Hockey League. Only Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Brad Marchand had more. It was certainly an amazing year for him but things did not go well once the playoffs rolled around. That might cause the Leafs to make big changes this year.

For one, the Leafs would be looking for a first-round pick if they were to give up Marner. The Hawks also have two second-round picks so one of them could go if needed. That is a lot to give up on its own but that’s what it may take to get one of the best offensive players in the league. It would also cost them more talent outside of draft picks.

Dylan Strome could use another change of scenery as well. He is someone that could be traded by the Hawks because he was never able to take that next step. It would also be a way for Toronto to save some money but still have an offensive player in Marner’s place. Alec Regula isn’t an NHL regular yet but the Leafs might be able to find room for him as they try to maneuver the cap.
