Chicago Blackhawks: 3 St. Louis Blues free agents to consider
Jaden Schwartz could provide some help up front for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Jaden Schwartz has been a fantastic St. Louis Blues forward for a long time. His entire NHL career has been spent with the Blues after they drafted him with the 14th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Draft. He was there, of course, in 2019 when they won the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. Now, ahead of his age 29 season, he might be looking for a new home as his contract is up.
He might go right back to the Blues if they want him but the Hawks might be smart to try and sign him if they decide to part ways. He would fit in really well. We don’t know what the future is going to be for Jonathan Toews although it sounds like he should be able to return. If he does, having him with Kirby Dach and Jaden Schwartz would provide some really nice depth.
Schwartz has a lot of experience playing in big games which is something that the Hawks lack now outside of the stars who are still there from the Stanley Cup days. In 2020, he had eight goals and 13 assists for 21 points. His team always has a chance of doing good things when he is on the ice. At 29 years old, he will still have plenty of good years left in his career.
