Chicago Bulls must make a decision on Ryan Arcidiacono

For the last four seasons, Ryan Arcidiacono has been one of the last Bulls to earn minutes in the rotation. As primarily the third or fourth point guard on the depth chart, Arcidiacono has been as dependable as you can ask for in that type of role.

The 27-year-old and former Villanova standout averaged 3.1 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game this past season as he played the fewest minutes of his career (10.2).

Going forward, the Bulls must find a true point guard to come in and either compete with Coby White or come in as the sure fire starter. With White and Tomas Satoransky on the roster next year, that would again make Arcidiacono the fourth point guard in the pecking order.

If Chicago wanted to bring him back on a similar contract for next season, I don’t think fans would have an issue with that. However, if the Bulls drafted a point guard and signed someone else in free agency, there wouldn’t be room for Arcidiacono on the roster.

It depends how valuable Arcidiacono is to Billy Donovan and the Bulls brass. Most would agree he is replaceable, and that the Bulls might even find an upgrade even as one of the deeper spots on the roster.
