Chicago Blackhawks: 3 trades to make with West playoff teams
Calvin de Haan might land the Chicago Blackhawks some nice draft picks in a trade.
Calvin de Haan has been a good defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks. The problem is that they haven’t been able to put him in the best position to succeed. You can make a legit argument that he was their best defenseman in his time there but de Haan probably shouldn’t be a team’s number one. If he is someone’s three or four, then that is probably a championship-level squad.
If the Blackhawks traded him to the Vegas Golden Knights, that would be the case for sure. They have studs like Alex Pietrangelo, Shea Theodore, Alec Martinez, and Brayden McNabb there which makes it really hard to play against them. If you insert someone like de Haan into that group, they are even better.
Right now, Vegas looks like a team that could win the Stanley Cup three out of the next four years. Of course, that probably won’t happen because winning the Cup one time is hard but they are certainly in contention year in and year out. If they added some extra depth on the blue line, they would be even better. The Hawks would love to add a second-round and sixth-round pick for a guy like de Haan. This could also save Chicago from losing a player like that in the expansion draft for nothing.
