The hype continues to grow about this current Chicago Bears roster, specifically due to the masterful job general manager Ryan Pace did in the 2021 NFL Draft.

But, the job is not yet done. This roster still has the opportunity for growth.

Chicago has a lot of reasons to be excited this year, especially when it comes to the offensive side of the ball — and that’s not something fans have been able to say every year. Typically, it’s all about the defense in Chicago.

The Bears do have a ton of talent on defense, even after releasing former All Pro corner Kyle Fuller. New defensive coordinator Sean Desai has more than enough to work with in order to keep this Bears defense in the top 10, if not higher.

Which areas could the Chicago Bears continue to address on defense?

The Bears do have a couple of areas on defense that could use a boost. Whether it be a depth addition or someone to come in and push a current starter, the Bears need a little more help.

Again, this unit could be elite in 2021 as-is. Anytime you have Khalil Mack leading the charge, amongst other former Pro Bowl guys, that unit is going to be a threat. But, the Bears should look at the free agent pool to add just a bit more talent.

While outlets continue to try and predict where some of the top remaining free agents land, we began looking at a few defensive players who aren’t being talked about as much. These are players the Bears could sign right now and they would immediately make the team better, yet might not cost a ton of money.

Pace and the Bears have to be calculated at this stage in the offseason. Money is an issue for most teams, and available free agents know that. Maybe the Bears could snag one or two of the following defenders to bolster that side of the ball while getting a bargain.
