It is time for the Chicago Blackhawks to make a huge trade like this with a contender.

The Chicago Blackhawks have had a lot of great moments with Duncan Keith. He is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer as he was one of the best defensemen in the history of the National Hockey League. With that said, trading him away now would be smart. He still has a few years left on his current deal and getting something for him while they can would be a good idea. Trading him and Collin Delia to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for two draft picks would be so smart.

It would be up to the Blackhawks to hit on their draft picks but they are at the point where accumulating as much as they can would be a great thing. They aren’t competing anytime soon which is why they should consider something like this.

Duncan Keith getting another crack at the Stanley Cup would also be really cool to see. We know how he gets in the playoffs which is something that could really help Pittsburgh. As far as Delia, it would be a good look for them to have three goalies as Seattle might snag one of Casey DeSmith or Tristan Jarry in the expansion draft.

The East playoff teams would be the perfect place to seek a trade that can help the Hawks accelerate a rebuild. All of these playoff teams believe they can win the Stanley Cup right now and keep that window open for a few more years.
