Nikita Zadorov leaving the Chicago Blackhawks would make them a better team.

Nikita Zadorov is going into the offseason as an RFA. It would be smart for the Chicago Blackhawks to move on from him instead of paying him too much money. He is a disaster in his own zone a good amount of the time but makes a good play every now and then which makes him often overrated. This was a disaster of a trade involving Brandon Saad (one of three) but they need to accept their losses.

If a team like the New York Islanders gave Chicago a 2021 second-round pick for someone like him, the Hawks should take it and run away as fast as they can. He can probably get them a decent pick like that from a contender for someone like Zadorov. This pick coming back in this mock trade comes from the Colorado Avalanche which is where the Hawks originally acquired Zadorov from which is ironic.

Why would the Islanders want someone like Zadorov if he is what we say he is? Well, he is that with the Blackhawks who are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. He doesn’t fit in their system well at all. His style might not fit in a lot of places but the New York Islanders might be able to help him. Barry Trotz runs a very tight defensive system there that could help him find his game. This is a trade that could really help out both teams.
