Chicago Bulls: 5 big name free agents to target this summer

Big name free agent targets for the Chicago Bulls: Kawhi Leonard
If Kawhi Leonard opts out of his contract this summer, there will be no bigger free agent prize on the market. Leonard continues to be one of the best all-around players in all of basketball and the Bulls would be extremely lucky to land him.
In an MVP race that’s surely to feature Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo at the top, along with LeBron James, we should still be including Leonard in the conversation. This year, Leonard actually posted a career-high in assists per game (5.2) to go along with 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals. He also shot the second-highest percentage of his career from the field at 51.2.
Above all else, Leonard would give the Bulls a true lockdown defender, which they have been missing for a few years now. The identity of this Bulls team has yet to come into focus, but one thing has been abundantly clear: they have lacked a defensive focus. Chicago has to find defense via free agency or the draft this year.
It would be a near-miracle for the Bulls to land Leonard, but boy would the city go crazy. Could you imagine Leonard, LaVine and Vucevic together? What a world.
