Big name free agent targets for the Chicago Bulls: Kyle Lowry

One position the Bulls should be targeting this offseason is at point guard. For a little while now, they have thrown together a few different guards into their rotation, yet haven’t been able to find an answer.

If the Bulls wanted to try and make a serious playoff run this next season, veteran Kyle Lowry would be a great candidate to sign. He might be getting way up there in age (35) but Lowry is still playing at a high level.

Prior to the trade deadline this year, Lowry was a name that we thought might be moved. But, he ended up staying put. This summer, though, he’ll end up finding a new home, and he’ll have plenty of suitors. More than likely, Lowry would prefer to go somewhere that gives him a chance to win a title. Is Chicago at the top of that list? Probably not. But, Lowry would be an incredible addition to the puzzle here in Chicago.

Adding a guy like Lowry to the fold would mean the Bulls are an immediate playoff team, no doubt. They’ve truly lacked a facilitator at the point guard position and Lowry can give Chicago exactly that, even at his age.

This past season, Lowry averaged 17.2 points, 7.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 39.6 percent from three-point range.
