This will be the second meeting of the year between Detroit and Chicago, the first taking place at Soldier Field in Week 4.
Detroit is going to look a lot different than they did just a year ago, though. With new head coach Dan Campbell really promoting a physical, nasty demeanor with his team, the Lions might push back more than they have in years past.
Of course, it all depends upon whether or not Jared Goff is playing well. The Lions’ offense will go as Goff goes, and we could end up seeing just how much Sean McVay helped boost his play in Los Angeles. Many believe Goff is a system quarterback and isn’t all that good. The Bears defense has an opportunity to wreck this game by getting to Goff, as they have done in the past when he played for the Rams.
One Lions player that will be new for the Bears is their first-round offensive tackle Penei Sewell, who was as close to a sure thing as any player in this draft. Goff has one thing going for him, and that’s Sewell. It will be interesting to see if Mack gets matched up against Sewell in this one, and who wins those battles.
