Chicago Bears Schedule Release: Week 1 SNF @ Los Angeles Rams

For the fourth year in a row, the Bears are going to take on the Los Angeles Rams in prime time. Back in 2018, the storyline that dominated the post-game analysis was how the Bears’ offensive line contained Aaron Donald on their way to beating the Rams in every sense, but mostly physically.

This year’s Week 1 matchup will be much different, as the Rams now have a familiar face under center. Matthew Stafford replaces Jared Goff in Los Angeles, and he figures to give the Rams’ offense a big boost. The Bears know Stafford well, and now that he has a creative offensive mind with some weapons at every position, he’ll be tough to beat.

On the other side of the ball, the Rams boast arguably the league’s best defense going into 2021 with that Donald guy at the forefront, creating havoc on every snap. Allen Robinson will likely draw Jalen Ramsey, leaving a lot of damage to be done by Darnell Mooney in the passing game.

The Rams gave up the least amount of yards in the NFL last year at 281 per game, and they brought back a lot of their major pieces from that unit.

The big question going into this game is whether or not Fields will win the starting job in camp. If he does, he’ll bring a different element to this game — an element the Rams are used to having to deal with Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray twice a year, each.

If Dalton is the guy, this game could get ugly — fast. We’ll see who ends up taking those starting snaps as we get closer to the season.
