By the end of the day on Wednesday, the Chicago Bears will know their full 18-week schedule for the 2021 NFL Regular Season. Leaks of the Bears scheduled have already surfaced and the latest is  a pair of primetime games against NFC North rivals in December.

Danny Parkins of 670 The Score is reporting that the Bears will face the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings in consecutive primetime games this December. The Bears will be face the Packers at Lambeau Field on December 12 for Sunday Night Football and then will follow by hosting the Vikings at Soldier Field for Monday Night Football on December 20.

For the Bears, these two games now push the total number of primetime games to four for the 2021 NFL Regular Season. The other two games will be when the Bears open the season against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football in Los Angeles and later in the season  when they play the Detroit Lions in Detroit on Thanksgiving day.

One thing is clear from the early leaks of the Bears’ 2021 NFL Regular Season schedule, not only does the NFL expect Justin Fields to be the team’s starting quarterback by the end of the season but they also expect the Bears to be in contention for a playoff spot.

More from Chicago Bears

While the Bears have always been a cornerstone franchise in the National Football League, they are beginning to learn the value of potentially having a franchise quarterback. Franchise quarterbacks are the way of the National Football League and league loves to showcase them.

Speaking of franchise quarterbacks, it will be interesting to see if Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback of the Packers for the December 12 primetime game against the Bears. Rodgers has been at odds with Packers’ front office and there is a feeling that the veteran quarterback could sit out the season if he is not traded before the start of the season. In which case, the game against the Packers in December could symbolize a passing of torch from Rodgers being the best quarterback in the NFC North to Fields taking over the throne.

Meanwhile, the Vikings still have Kirk Cousins as their starting quarterback and he figures to be in place for their game against the Bears on December 20. Interesting enough, the Vikings were prepared to make a push for Fields had it not been for the Bears trade up to select the Ohio State quarterback.
