Chicago Blackhawks: 3 players who will be gone by the draft

It is always cool when the local kids play at home. Vinnie Hinostroza is from Bartlett, Illinois so playing for the Chicago Blackhawks has been a dream come true. However, he is currently on an expiring contract. He will be a UFA at the end of the season and will be free to sign with whoever he wants (of the teams that offer him a contract).

There is hope that the Chicago Blackhawks resign him. He is one of the players on this list that is not a lock to be gone by the draft but his UFA status makes it somewhat likely. His season didn’t go well with the Florida Panthers (partially because they are so deep and didn’t use him right) but he certainly redeemed himself when he came back to Chicago. He has been picking up points on a nightly basis which should increase his stock.

When looking for a new contract, all he needs to do is talk about what made him successful. Opportunity, of course, is what made him successful. Right when Chicago brought him in, he was in a position to succeed. He had 0 points in 9 games with Florida but was averaging under ten minutes per game of ice time.

With Chicago, he has three goals and seven assists for 10 points in 14 games now that his ice time is averaging 13:27. Don’t the surprised if they bring him back but don’t be surprised if he is gone either. By the draft, you can probably assume that a decision will be made. It does seem more than likely that he will be gone based on the direction that the Hawks are going.
