Chicago Bears: Three stars to trade at the draft to move up
Seeing the Chicago Bears trade Eddie Jackson would be tough but it might really help.
Eddie Jackson is one of the few bright spots in Ryan Pace’s draft history. He was their fourth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Alabama. He has been a great Bears defender so far in his career but they need to get a quarterback. If giving him up to move up in the draft is something that needs to happen, they shouldn’t hesitate.
Jackson was extra special in 2018 when the Bears had an elite defense. He forced a couple of fumbles, had six picks, and had an NFL leading two touchdowns off of interceptions. Things haven’t been exactly the same since the defense turned things over to Chuck Pagano but he is still a very valuable player.
It might make sense for the Denver Broncos to move back to 20 and take Eddie Jackson. Vic Fangio might really want a guy like Eddie Jackson on his defense because he was the one who led things on defense as the defensive coordinator in 2018. They just acquired Teddy Bridgewater in a trade so they might be willing to trade down in a situation like this. Losing a player like Eddie Jackson would certainly make the Bears’ defense worse but they are going nowhere until they get a good quarterback.
