The 2021 NFL Draft is here and for the first time in three years, the Chicago Bears have a selection in the first round.

Entering the 2021 NFL Draft, the Bears have several needs across their roster. The Bears’ needs as they enter the 2021 NFL Draft include offensive tackle, wide receiver, cornerback, and most importantly, quarterback.

There is no question that the Bears have yet to improve their roster since the end of the 2020 NFL Draft. The Bears opted to sign veteran quarterback Andy Dalton to replace Mitchell Trubisky as the team’s starting quarterback but, in signing Dalton, the Bears were forced to cut veteran cornerback Kyle Fuller.

That has been the trend for the Bears this off-season. The Bears are shifting their resources from the defensive side of the ball to the offense. The reason for that is because it is believed that general manager Ryan Pace and head coach Matt Nagy are entering a season in which they need to show progress in order to save their jobs.

The Bears have failed to show progress on offense since the second half of the 2018 season. That would be the reason why the 2021 NFL Draft is so important for the Bears. Pace and Nagy want to go down swinging, and in doing so, Nagy wants to go down while running the offense that he was originally hired to run when named the team’s head coach in 2018.

The Bears currently hold the 20th overall selection in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Though, recent rumors have suggested that Bears’ general manager Ryan Pace will not be staying pat.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the Chicago Bears as we embark on Day 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft.
