Round 5, Pick 164

The Chicago Bears could use as much help on defense to get younger as possible.

Everyone talks about how bad the Bears offense is and they are right. That has been the major weakness of the organization for about half a century. That doesn’t mean that the defense is perfect all the time, though. They have definitely regressed after the 2018 season where they were one of the best defenses in franchise history. Now, they are an aging group that can use a burst of youth.

We already have them taking Jevon Holland in the second round of this mock who is a safety. That doesn’t mean that they can’t draft two safeties in one draft. With Kyle Fuller moving on to the Denver Broncos, the defensive backfield is going to need as many contributors as possible. Drafting Andre Cisco in the fifth round could really help with that. If they were to add two safeties in the same draft, they certainly would have some depth at the position if they both worked out even slightly.

Cisco only played in two games for the Syracuse Orange in 2020 and he still managed to have some pretty good stats including an interception. He is going to fall into the later rounds where Ryan Pace has been very successful with drafting. If he sees Andre Cisco on the board and believes he can help the defense, he should go for it.
