Chicago Bears 7-Round Mock Draft: Risking it all to get a QB
Round 3, Pick 83
The Chicago Bears need help with their wide receiver core going forward.
The Chicago Bears had to place a franchise tag on Allen Robinson during the offseason. That it’s not the ideal way to keep your best offensive player for a season but it had to be done. Losing him for nothing would have been a monumental failure. They do, however, need to be prepared for what feels like his eventual departure. That is why drafting Amari Rodgers in the third round would be so smart.
We know that Anthony Miller was a disaster of a draft pick so you can’t count on him for much these days. They do have Darnell Mooney who has been awesome so adding Rodgers to that group would look pretty nice. If Allen Robinson stays, those three together might be good enough for whoever is throwing them the ball.
Rodgers had a nice time playing for the Clemson Tigers. He played all four years there where they had a tremendous amount of success. He had Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson throwing him the ball which will always make things easier but he is a really good receiver. In his senior year of 2020, he had 1020 yards on 77 receptions. Seven of those receptions were for touchdowns. The Bears need to add another good weapon to their offense and Rodgers is a great option.
