Trade Three

It is fun to think about the Chicago Bears making a blockbuster type trade.

We know that the Chicago Bears have pretty much been a disaster for the last 20 years. They can never find a good quarterback and anything that ever looks promising ends up falling flat within two years. It doesn’t seem like that is going to change any time soon so, at this point, it would be fun to see them just make a blockbuster trade and hope that it works.

That is what it would be if the Bears acquired Julio Jones, Matt Ryan, and a 2021 fifth-round pick in change for a 2022 first-round pick and Roquan Smith. It is a hefty price for the Bears but at least they would be adding a good wide receiver and a good quarterback. Ryan is an older player but he certainly would give them a better chance to win than Andy Dalton.

Ryan Pace isn’t good at making first-round picks anyway so they might as well get something that they know. It is not an easy type of deal to make but the Bears would probably be better in the short term if they did this. Atlanta would also free themselves of two big contracts right away. Smith is going to be a highly paid player one day (we think) but for now, the Falcons would have a good amount of relief from a deal like this.
