Trade Two

The Chicago Bears might think they are good enough to make this trade.

Right or wrong, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace think they are a great football team. They are wrong but they think they are. That is why they might be willing to send the 2021 first overall pick (pick 20) to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for Julio Jones. Andy Dalton is their guy at quarterback and they probably think he can help them win enough football games to be a playoff team. If they added a guy like Julio Jones, they might believe it even more.

The Bears playing okay against bad teams down the stretch helped them back into the playoffs but it cost them about ten spots on the draft board. That probably won’t be a spot where they can grab one of the five first-round quarterbacks unless they trade up anyway. That might be their logic towards making a deal like this.

It certainly wouldn’t be a smart trade to make but it is one that we could absolutely see Pace and Nagy thinking is a good idea. They would be better with weapons if their wide receiver core was Julio Jones, Allen Robinson, and Darnell Mooney but nobody is confident that will be enough to make them a good offensive unit.
