Chicago Bears 7-Round Mock Draft: Add a key piece in first round
Round Five, Pick 164
There is value for the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of this year’s draft.
The Chicago Bears went into the 2020 NFL Draft knowing that they had a big tight end problem. They signed Jimmy Graham who is an aging player and then drafted Cole Kmet out of the University of Notre Dame. It was a great selection but most NFL teams do the best if they have a two tight-end set. The Bears would look really nice with Nick Eubanks out of Michigan to line up with Cole Kmet someday.
Eubanks probably won’t be as good as Kmet but you certainly never know. Matt Nagy didn’t use Kmet as a rookie as much as he should have but maybe 2021 will be different. Andy Dalton certainly isn’t the answer at quarterback. However, having two good tight ends in the long term could be something that forces Matt Nagy to actually use them. It would also probably help out the other skilled position players on the team.
Nick Eubanks would join his Michigan teammate Nico Collins if they drafted this exact mock draft. That would certainly be cool as they both look to get the NFL careers going after some disappointing years at the Big House. If the Bears were looking to draft another tight end at any point during this year’s draft, Eubanks is the player to consider.
