Round Two, Pick 52

The Chicago Bears, at some point in the draft, need to think about the best players.

If Nick Bolton is on the board when the Chicago Bears come up in the second round, they absolutely have to draft him. This is a player who could really help the defense by only spending a second-round pick. Those picks are valuable but using it on a player like Bolton is a no-brainer. He is a player that was a phenomenal linebacker during his time playing for the Mizzou Tigers. If he is on the board when the Bears come up at 52, they absolutely have to draft him.

In 2020, he was amazing. He played in 10 games where he had 53 solo tackles and 42 assisted tackles for solo tackles. 8 of those tackles were for a loss. He also came up and sacked the quarterback twice. He made five pass deflections and recovered one fumble in those ten games as well. All of those statistics are proof that this kid is a straight-up beast.

It isn’t like Mizzou’s defense is like Alabama’s defense where it has a bunch of future NFL players on it either. He was a one-man wrecking crew out there a good amount of the time. It is fair to assume that he will come into the NFL and be very impactful as a result of the skills he developed in college. This pick would make even more sense if the Bears had to trade anyone of their current linebackers to get a quarterback someday.
