Chicago Blackhawks: Darren Dreger gives a Jonathan Toews update
All anyone in Chicago wants is Jonathan Toews to be healthy. That is so much more important than anything hockey-related. He hasn’t played a single game for the Chicago Blackhawks this season for an undisclosed health situation. We haven’t heard much of anything about him this season outside of a nice tribute video he made for Patrick Kane’s 1000th career NHL game. During the intermission of tonight’s game against the Nashville Predators, Darren Dragar of TSN gave a report on Toews.
During the Chicago Blackhawks intermission, a report on Jonathan Toews came out.
Dreger is one of the most well-respected insiders in the hockey media world. When he says something, you can believe it. He reported that Toews is out for the year. He also reported that his health is improving and should be ready for the 2021-22 season. That is as good of news as we could have wanted.
Hockey is the least important thing when thinking about this situation but it is certain that a healthy Toews would help this team. Coming back next season would be really cool for the organization as they will begin welcoming fans back into the United Center.
Jonathan Toews is one of the most well-respected players in the history of the National Hockey League. This is a guy who will be in the Hockey Hall of Fame, have his number retired, and possibly even get a statue built of his likeness. Few can claim they were as impactful as Toews was to the team that won three Stanley Cups in six years.
This report is very encouraging for a team that could use him. Obviously, his health is the most important thing so this is a positive sign towards that getting to where it needs to be. If Toews could be out there next season with his teammates, that would make a lot of people including him feel really good.
