Chicago Bears NFL Draft 2021: Crippling mistakes Ryan Pace must avoid
By Ryan Heckman
The above photo of Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace may strike fans as though he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Sometimes, that appears to be the case. If we’re being honest, fans have every right to question Pace and his tenure in Chicago. Many of us hypothesize over why he is still around, quite frankly.
Does Pace have something on George McCaskey and Ted Phillips that we don’t know about? Is there some hidden agenda or potential blackmail scenario behind the scenes?
That’s hyperbole, of course. But, with the way Pace has handled the Bears over the years, many don’t understand why he’s been given another chance this year. Truthfully, Pace should be gone. He has no business being trusted for another year.
Is there any reason to believe the Chicago Bears are in good hands for the 2021 NFL Draft?
Bears fans are a sensitive bunch. We have a hard time trusting after being fooled over and over again. After all, Pace is the guy who traded up to draft Mitchell Trubisky and, in the same offseason, signed both Mike Glennon and Mark Sanchez.
Is there any more that needs to be said when critiquing the way Pace governs this team?
Sure, he’s made some good moves. But, his mistakes have completely outweighed his successes. Even more recently with Nick Foles and Robert Quinn, Pace has given us multiple reasons to scratch our heads until they bleed.
is there any hope for the Bears in this year’s draft? How can we honestly go into that weekend with any sliver of hope, knowing Pace is at the helm?
if the Bears are to come away with a successful draft haul, it’s all on his shoulders. Pace has to avoid making any of these mistakes if he’s to be considered a success in a few days.
