Chicago Bears 7-Round Mock Draft: Ryan Pace goes nuclear
By Ryan Heckman
Just when you thought the Bears had made their one and only move of the draft, Pace says he’s just getting started. This is the draft where Pace has to go all-in, or he won’t be around to see next year.
In late Round 1, the Bears make a move with the reigning AFC champs and slide back into the end of the first round.
Bears Receive: Pick No. 31
Chiefs Receive: Pick No. 52, 2022 3rd Round Pick, 2023 4th Round Pick
By moving back up into the first round, the Bears secure a starting offensive tackle in Oklahoma State’s Teven Jenkins. As one of the primary positions of concern for the Bears, the tackle position has to be addressed early in the draft.
With Bobby Massie’s departure, we’re not sure who will end up starting in his place. However, we are also unsure of Charles Leno, whose production has diminished since 2018. Adding Jenkins gives the Bears a starter on either side, right away.
Jenkins played with an attitude and makes sure his opposing man knows that he won’t stop until after the whistle blows. He’s part of a great offensive tackle class this year, and will go within the first round, without a doubt.
