The Chicago Blackhawks were a busy franchise over the last week. They made two trades with the Florida Panthers in the days leading up to the NHL Trade Deadline and did very well in both. Then the actual trade deadline came and went. They were one of the most active teams on that day as well. They made some trades that people were expecting to see and some that came out of nowhere.

The Chicago Blackhawks were a very busy team during the trade deadline.

They traded Carl Soderberg and Mattias Janmark to the Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights respectively which makes complete sense on both sides. Both of them are unrestricted free agents after this season is over and they went to teams with legit chances to win the Stanley Cup this year. Each of them is going to play a different role on very different teams.

The Blackhawks also made a pair of trades with the Vancouver Canucks. They got the day going for themselves by acquiring Adam Gaudette in exchange for Matthew Highmore. It is one high-end fourth-liner in exchange for a low-end fourth-liner and the Blackhawks got the best of it.

The second trade was submitted right at the buzzer when the Blackhawks upgraded a fifth-round pick to a fourth-found pick by giving Vancouver Madison Bowey. That is a deal that will take years to see if it was worth it but it looks nice as of right now.

Most of the people that you thought would be traded were but there are still a few names left that aren’t going to be traded this season now that the deadline is gone. These are the two big trades that weren’t made:
